- It's mostly automated now, nobody peering through an eyepiece directly any more. A computer aims the telescope, data is recorded and is examined by computer programs. If something interesting or unusual shows up a person checks it and may go apesh** or not.

- I "retired" at 62 after I was laid off and no one would hire a 62 year old man with 40 years experience in IT. Luckily, my wife was still working and I had a good IRA fund but I wasn't ready to retire. But if you are old nobody wants you.
